Texas’ own Dr. Jennifer Walden Returns to Her Roots

She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as an active member of the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In 2014, Dr. Walden was honored to be recognized by Texas Monthly as one of Texas Super Doctors.

A native Texan, Dr. Walden was born and raised in the Northwest Hills of Austin, Texas. She graduated from Anderson High School before receiving her undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin, as well as attending medical school there. While at the University of Texas, she attained her Medical Doctorate and graduated as the Salutatorian, with Highest Honors. She was also elected President of the Texas Alpha Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After completing her residency training in Texas, she moved to New York where she had been selected for a highly competitive world-renowned fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.

Family is important to her, however, and she recently relocated her busy cosmetic surgery practice from the hustle and bustle of New York City back home to Austin, Texas so that her twin sons Houston and Rex can be raised surrounded by family. She is now the owner of her own Cosmetic Surgery Center which operates out of the prestigious Westlake Medical Center. She and her team are dedicated to providing their patients with the highest standards of care possible.

Like many medical practitioners, Dr. Walden is an avid philanthropist, who makes time to provide her services to the underserved and less fortunate. She finds this to be one of the most rewarding experiences in her life and has participated as a volunteer surgeon on several medical mission trips. One of her favorite organizations to work with is Austin Smiles, which provides cleft lip and palate surgery to infants born with congenital differences. Dr. Walden is also an avid supporter of the Junior League of Austin’s Food in Tummies (FIT) program. This unique program provides nourishment on weekends to elementary school children who are dependent on free or reduced school meals during the week. Dr. Walden has made frequent visits to various schools in the Austin area where she takes part in the program first-hand. Dr. Walden also proudly serves on the Executive Leadership Team of the Go Red for Women campaign in Austin. This campaign serves to help bring awareness to women about heart disease.
